Towards more transparency in Google Ads
More transparency in Google Ads is a procedure that Google has taken in relation to ads and advertisers and has issued an announcement in this regard.
You have probably seen the phrase "About this ad" or "about the advertiser" next to Google ads (whether search ads or display ads).
By clicking on this option, you can see the name of the advertising person or company. According to Google, more than 30 million users click on this option every day and check the advertiser's information. Google has received positive feedback from this feature and is improving and expanding it.
Of course, this option is not active for all ads, but Google is gradually authenticating advertisers, and Google Ads accounts are receiving authentication emails:
Time needed to authenticate advertisers
After receiving this email, users are required to authenticate and send their identity documents within one month.
The advantage of authenticating advertisers in Google Ads is that people who view ads can learn about the advertiser and act with more knowledge about receiving services and products through advertising on Google.
In fact, as we said, Google's purpose of authenticating Google Ads users is to increase transparency for better decision-making.
Each Google Ads advertiser, one page!
To increase transparency about ads, Google has decided to create a page for each advertiser.
In fact, this page is displayed after the user clicks on "About this ad" and you can see the active ads displayed by the advertiser in the last 30 days.
For example, imagine you see an ad for a suit, but you don't know the brand. By using the advertiser page, you can learn more about that advertiser before visiting the advertiser's site or making a purchase.
The importance of creating transparency about advertisers
When a user recognizes an advertiser and considers the ad to be in violation of Google's policies, they can simply report it so that the Google team can review it for compliance with Google's ad rules and remove it if necessary.
Creating a safe experience is Google's top priority, and user feedback is an important part of how we do this.
Advertiser Pages will be launched first for advertisers in the United States and will be rolled out to other countries in a phased manner. Google may add more information to the advertiser page in the future. Google's goal of improving the "About this ad" section is to help users control and understand the ads they see.
